Description

The boat form is one of the most distinctive shapes in the Burundian basket tradition. This is the larger of our two boats at twelve and a half inches long, eight and a half wide, and three inches deep. Coiled by hand from sisal and sweetgrass by Burundian artisans, each boat basket carries a unique pattern from its weaver. Use it for bread on the dining table, rolled hand towels in the bathroom, or magazines beside the sofa.
